Original Parkinson Pottery ceramic bottle stopper dating from the 1950s, designed by Susan Parkinson & Guy Neale. The stopper is modelled as a stylised knight’s helmet with a sweeping crest, hand-decorated in black linework with feathered scales, star motif and hatband detail over a grey-blue wash glaze.
Produced in Leeds, England, during the 1950s, Parkinson Pottery became known for bold mid-century design and their quirky novelty character stoppers. Each was hand-painted, making every piece unique.
Dimensions: approx. 12 x 5 x 7 cm
Condition: The cork shows age wear and flaking, but the ceramic is intact with no chips or cracks and retains good glaze.
A highly collectible piece of British mid-century design, sought after by Parkinson Pottery enthusiasts and collectors of novelty barware and ceramics.
