An antique brass oval photo frame, made in Birmingham, England by Arco during the 1920s–1930s. Cast in a Rococo style with scrolling detail and gilt finish, it retains its original velvet backing and trade mark label.
The front is marked “This Trade Mark – B Ltd – A Guarantee of Best British Workmanship Throughout – Arco” and the back is impressed “Made in Birmingham England – Arco – No. 22802 – Patent”, confirming its provenance as a British-made decorative frame.
Designed to hold an oval portrait, this frame would have originally been displayed on a mantelpiece, desk or dressing table. Its warm aged patina and intact label add to its authenticity and charm.
