This is a beautiful early 20th century handmade copper jug, crafted with a strong utilitarian Arts and Crafts influence. The tall tapered body, rolled spout and riveted handle give it that honest, functional workshop feel that defined early copperware. You can see the hand-formed seam running down the back and the double rivets securing the handle – classic signs of early metalwork and individual craftsmanship rather than later mass production.
It has a natural, aged patina throughout with gentle verdigris, surface marks and character from decades of use. The underside shows a worn circular maker’s mark along with a simple stamped “6”, typical sizing used for functional copper jugs of the period.
At 32.5 x 25 x 17cm, it makes a striking piece for styling – perfect as a flower vessel, decorative pitcher, or as part of a curated rustic display. Full of warmth and early 20th century charm, it adds real depth and texture to any interior.
A lovely, honest piece of vintage copper with hand-worked details and plenty of character.
