An antique Japanese lustreware tea cup and saucer, hand painted with a colourful blue bird perched among bright red poppies. Finished in a rich orange-gold lustre with gilt detailing, the set has Hand Painted Made in Japan stamped to the base, dating it to the early to mid 20th century.
The cup measures 5 x 10 x 8.5cm, and the saucer is 12.5cm in diameter. In good condition with some light age-related wear to the lustre glaze, consistent with its age.
