A beautiful blue and white dish, which features a rural scene by the river.

Not much is known about this piece as little can be found on the makers mark "Marathon". However it is very likely this was made pre 1885, when rules came in about stamping "England" on pottery. Also the blue and white style as well asthe crazing, show that this piece is very old.

Overall for its age it is in good condition. There was once likely a lid to this and it would have been used for toiletries such as Razors and tooth brushes. However it still works perfectly as a lovely, open trinket dish.

There are some signs of age, with a little bit of browning to this white and a few scuffs, but no chips or cracks
