Original brass miners check tag from Clipstone Colliery, Nottinghamshire, numbered 632. These tags were once used by miners as part of the check-in system underground and each number related to an individual worker.
Made from solid brass with an attractive aged patina, this piece has been attached to a silver-tone chain (broken). The tag itself is in very good vintage condition and makes a striking piece of industrial history to wear or display.
