A stunning example of early Victorian pottery.

The Victorians loved the blue & white "Willow" pattern, which has held its own and remains a popular and timeless design.

The back has no markings to confirm who made this piece. Markings were not required until 1885. This particular piece has an incised "O" on the back, as well as what might have been a signature, but after researching the "O", I haven't been able to trace it to a particular maker.

Based on this and the crazing, it is likely this piece is early Victorian.

Further examples of its age are a few small chips on the back of the platter (not see from the front). There are also some stains and discolouration. None of this takes away from the beauty of the piece.

It is possible it could even be from the Georgian period, however it would be impossible to say for certain!

A very large platter and statement pieces for sure, which brings not only a decorative element, but also some history and culture into your home.
