A characterful mismatched pair of antique table casters. One is in an Art Nouveau style with ornate scrolling decoration, originally silver plated (now mostly worn back to the base metal, giving it a timeworn look). The other is a plainer Victorian pewter baluster-shaped shaker, more utilitarian in style, with its screw-top lid seized in place.
These were once used as sugar or spice casters but now make great pieces of rustic kitchen décor or a lovely addition to a collection of old pewter and plated ware.
Both show age and wear as expected, but they’re full of history and display beautifully as a pair.
