This is a vintage Peterson Kinsale XL11 briar pipe, made in the Republic of Ireland and crafted in that bold, oversized style the Kinsale range is known for. The XL11 shape is one of the most popular – a deep, generous chamber, a sweeping curved stem and that chunky briar bowl Peterson collectors love.
The pipe has been well-used, so there is heavy carbon build-up inside the bowl, darkening around the rim and some wear and oxidation to the stem and bit. Structurally it’s still sound, with plenty of potential for anyone who enjoys restoring older Petersons or adding a characterful Irish briar to their collection.
