Rapier No.500 cast iron bench plane, made in England mid 20th century. Solid cast body with original red paint, front knob and rear handle intact. It measures approx 36cm in length, 12cm tall and 6cm wide.
This one is missing the blade/iron and lever cap so is being sold for restoration, spare parts or workshop décor. The sole has surface rust and marks consistent with age and use, but the body is sturdy and the maker’s mark is clear.
A good project piece for tool collectors, traditional woodworking enthusiasts or those who enjoy restoring vintage hand tools. Also works well as industrial or rustic display.
