A beautifully made A. J. Hooper brass fire fender front panel, dating to the late 19th century. This is an original Victorian piece with the classic Hooper pressed-brass design, featuring repeated vertical panels topped with stylised acanthus fans. It measures 14 x 55cm and has a gentle curve, typical of central fender fronts from this period.

The front is solid brass, now polished to reveal its warm golden tone. The back shows the original iron frame and three mounting brackets, with the maker’s mark A. J. Hooper stamped into the metal. These marks confirm it as an authentic Birmingham-made fireplace piece from around 1880–1900, known for quality brasswork and decorative metal goods.

Condition is consistent with age. The brass front presents well with light age marks, while the iron frame shows expected Victorian wear. A fantastic piece for restoration, architectural salvage, antique fireplace displays, or as a standalone decorative panel with real character.
