A stunning example of Victorian copper Lustre pottery by Allertons, Longton.
The Pitcher is ceramic with a Copper Lustre finish with a contrasting blue pattern.
This piece is somewhat difficult to place, but based on the "Allertons + Longton + England" mark I estimate it to have been made between 1859 - 1912 (after 1912 the company was taken over and "ltd" was added to the name.
Also as the mark doesn't resemble of their later marks and appears more hand written, it is likely to be one of their earlier pieces.
This Pitcher would make a great little decorative piece for dried florals and stems and would bring some history and culture om your home.
In reasonable vintage condition. There are no chips or cracks on the outer casing, but there is some wear to the colouring of the Pitcher, wherenit has darkened due to age.
There is also a hairline crack I'm the bottom of the pitcher inside, so it is not recommended that water is used.
