A vintage “Antique Casket” tin originally containing Kemps Chocolate Biscuits and Barker & Dobson Chocolates. This hinged casket-style tin was produced as a reproduction of an 18th-century French snuff box in gold enamel (Paris, circa 1760–1761), reproduced with permission of the Victoria & Albert Museum.
The rectangular tin is richly decorated with Rococo-style panels featuring classical figures, framed in ornate gold scrollwork. Inside is a gold-wash finish with natural age-related patina.
The tin is in good condition with some cosmetic surface wear and a little stiffness in the joints, but still functions very well.
A collectable advertising tin with strong decorative appeal, ideal for collectors of biscuit and chocolate tins, or as a small trinket or storage box.
