A vintage solid brass jam jar pot.
There appears to be a makers mark on top of the handle, however due to the rust I am unable to make it out. I considered scrubbing the rust, but decided it might then affect the beautiful rustic age of the piece.
As such, I'm unable to date this piece exactly, but it is likely made somewhere in the early 20th century, as when these were popular.
It had stood the test of time and is very good vintage condition. It was likely a utilitarian piece, meaning it was high-quality made to be functional rather then decorative. The quality can be see on the piece.
Quite a weighty piece at 1.5kg, there is some wear due to its age. This includes rust on the handle and patina on the brass.
These are now very popular as planters and would make a fab rustic planter in the home!
Measures 10cm in height (including the handlep 25cm) and 19cm Diameter at the top and 15cm diameter at the bottom.
