Quite a hefty piece, this lidded tray features raised engravings of Viking boats and a warrior and a shallow tray.
It is likely this piece is mid-century modern and research has shown, made in Norway. Other similar pieces found online bare a mark on the bottom, however as this is covered in green felt I cannot confirm if this piece is actually marked.
The structure is quite interesting as the lid appears to be earthenware. The border, which features the vikings, is of different material and cold to the touch, likely to be pewter.
Overall in very good condition. There is a slight chip to the inside of the lid, however this is not noticeable when the lid is on.
