A lovely mid-century Stratton powder compact featuring a colourful printed duck and wetland scene on a gold-tone lid. This design is one of Stratton’s most recognisable decorative styles from the late 1950s to early 1960s, when wildlife motifs were especially popular. Made in England, it has that solid, well-made feel Stratton compacts are known for.
Inside is the classic Convertible setup with the Stratton-branded inner lid, designed to take loose powder or a refill pan. The mirror shows gentle age spotting, and the powder well still holds some of the original contents. The compact opens and closes securely, with light surface wear consistent with its age. The reverse has the mid-century concentric ring pattern Stratton used on many of their compacts during this period.
