19th century antique solid brass bell featuring a Renaissance-style figure standing above detailed classical relief scenes. Around the base is the inscription “1569 F. HEMONY ME FECIT ANNO” — Latin for “F. Hemony made me in the year 1569.”
This design pays tribute to the work of François Hemony, one of Europe’s most celebrated 17th-century bell founders. The bell is beautifully cast with a rich, characterful patina that highlights its age and craftsmanship. Subtle darkened areas and natural wear give it a wonderfully authentic presence.
The internal clapper remains intact and produces a soft, mellow tone when rung. A distinctive and decorative piece that bridges historical artistry with 19th-century revival design.
A wonderful display item for collectors of antique brassware, historical replicas, or Renaissance-inspired decor.
