A genuine 19th century miniature oil lamp, complete with its original metal base, burner and white milk glass shade. This small paraffin lamp was once used as a bedside or night lamp and carries all the character of its age.
The lamp features a crown-style burner with a decorative turning wheel. The wheel does turn but then sticks – it appears the wick has expanded and no longer passes through properly. It may work with another wick but is untested, so this is being sold purely as a decorative collectable rather than for practical use.
The base shows areas of age-related wear and patina, consistent with a piece of this period. The white glass shade is free from cracks and gives it a charming antique look.
