A beautifully hand-carved antique Chinese bone pendant, featuring a different raised scene on each side. The detailing is intricate throughout, with multiple figures, floral motifs and architectural elements carved in relief, all framed within a twisted rope border.
The material is very likely carved bone rather than ivory, identifiable by its fine natural grain, tiny pores and warm aged patina. The loop at the top is carved as part of the piece, showing the craftsmanship typical of late Qing to early Republic-era work (c.1900–1930).
Both scenes are full of character — one showing a group gathered in discussion or celebration, and the other depicting a lively village or court narrative with figures, trees and pagoda-style structures. The pendant is lightly aged with a gentle mellow tone that adds to its authenticity and charm.
Dimensions: approx. 5 x 3 x 0.5cm
A striking collectible for anyone interested in antique Asian carvings, early export pieces or unusual pendant art.
