A pair of Burleigh Ware mugs made in England to commemorate the coronation of King George VI on 12th May 1937. Each mug features a raised profile portrait of the King within a green laurel wreath on a pale blue ground. The reverse has the impressed text ‘Coronation May 12 1937’, and the base is stamped with the Burleigh Ware beehive mark.

These mugs are in good vintage condition for their age. There is overall crazing to the glaze, some light staining, and minor surface wear around the handles, but no major chips or cracks. A nice pair to display together as part of a royal memorabilia or British ceramics collection.

Dimensions (each):

9 x 10 x 7cm
