A large mid century Indian copper jug with a contrasting brass handle, tall and sculptural in form. The jug has elegant proportions with a narrow neck, flared rim and elongated curved handle, giving it real presence as a decorative piece.
The copper body shows signs of traditional lathe turning, visible to the base, with the brass handle formed separately and securely attached. The mixed metals work beautifully together and have developed a warm, aged surface over time.
This piece has not been tested with water and is therefore recommended for decorative use only. It displays particularly well styled with dry stems or flowers, or as a statement piece on its own on the floor, a console or sideboard.
Condition:
Good overall vintage condition, with some cosmetic wear due to age, including the odd small dent, along with a lovely aged patina. This does not detract from its overall aesthetic and adds to its character.
