A vintage mid-century Chinese ceramic fishbowl planter decorated with a raised enamel-style fruit pattern. The exterior features vibrant clusters of peaches, pomegranates, grapes and gourds, outlined in relief against a deep cobalt blue ground. These traditional fruit motifs symbolise abundance, good fortune and longevity in Chinese decorative arts.

The interior is hand painted with goldfish and water plants, a classic design used on Chinese fishbowls and planters made for home décor. The rim is finished with a decorative floral border in contrasting colours. This piece has a pleasing weight and a bold, colourful presence.
