A mid-century Indian brass vase with hand-etched foliate decoration and a scalloped rim. This style was produced in India during the 1950s–1970s and became popular export brassware. The turning marks to the base and the hand-cut engraved lines are typical of the period and region.
The vase has a baluster form with a rounded mid-section, narrow waist and flared rim. It is made from lightweight sheet brass, shaped on a lathe and then finely etched with stylised leaves. Suitable for dried stems or as a decorative display piece.
Expected signs of age are present but it remains in good overall condition.
