A mid century vintage solid brass jug, hand etched with repeating decorative motifs and marked India to the base. The jug has a well-balanced form with a gently flared spout, a solid brass handle and a lathe-turned base, giving it a good weight and presence.
The decoration has been etched by hand rather than stamped, and the brass has developed a soft aged patina with light surface marks consistent with age. As a mid-century piece, it reflects the popularity of traditional brassware in interior styling during this period. It displays beautifully styled with dry stems, or as a decorative piece on its own on shelving or a sideboard.
This piece has not been tested with water and is therefore recommended for dry stems or decorative use only.
