This is a Victorian brass trivet in the Arts & Crafts style, designed as a miniature stand for a small flat iron or travel iron. The pointed shield shape and decorative pierced scrollwork are classic late-19th-century features, and the three turned legs show the kind of hand-finished casting associated with Victorian and early Edwardian brassware.
At just 5.5 x 10 x 5.5 cm, it’s a lovely small example of period ironware, originally made to hold a miniature smoothing iron or part of a child’s household tool set. The textured casting, early patina and subtle irregularities all reflect its age and authentic late-Victorian manufacture.
Today it works beautifully as a tiny decorative riser or plant stand for small pots, adding a touch of antique Arts & Crafts charm to a shelf or windowsill.
In antique condition with patina, age marks and surface wear consistent with Victorian brass.
