A characterful vintage Coronet box camera, made in England and dating to the late 1930s–early 1940s. This is a classic early mid-century British camera, produced at a time when photography was becoming accessible to everyday households. Solidly made with a leatherette-covered metal body, simple fixed-focus “Every Distance” lens and traditional red window film counter to the rear.
This example comes with its original canvas and leather carry case, which has aged beautifully and adds to the authenticity and display appeal. The case shows expected wear, softening and marks consistent with age, all of which give it real presence and charm. These original cases are increasingly hard to find and make a lovely addition for collectors or interior styling.
The camera has not been film tested due to age and is being sold as a decorative or collector’s piece. All observations are based on a visual inspection only, to the best of my ability, and I am not a camera expert. There is cosmetic wear throughout in keeping with its age, including surface marks and patina, which only enhance its vintage character.
A great piece for display in a studio, bookshelf, shop interior or styled home setting, and ideal for lovers of early photography, British manufacturing history or vintage objects with story and soul.
