Vintage Rank Aldis QI 24 slide projector, made in England by The Rank Organisation – Aldis, Birmingham, circa 1960s. Originally produced for use in schools, lecture halls and other institutional settings, these were built as robust, long-lasting working machines rather than domestic projectors.
This piece has a heavy metal casing, large front projection lens and a manual slide carrier with numbered guide. Its industrial design and visible age make it particularly suited today as a display piece, prop or restoration project.
The projector is untested and requires rewiring, as there is no plug fitted. It is therefore sold as display or for refurbishment only and not for immediate functional use.
Condition is good for its age, with obvious cosmetic wear, including surface marks, dust and areas of paint loss, all consistent with decades of institutional use. The structure feels solid and complete.
