A beautifully made solid brass dual-sided vanity mirror by Elite, Birmingham, featuring one standard mirror and one magnified side. Simple, elegant and well proportioned, this is a classic mid-century dressing table piece with timeless appeal.
The brass frame and base have a warm aged patina, with visible turning marks to the base typical of British brassware from this period. The mirror tilts smoothly on its stand and sits securely on a felted base to protect surfaces.
The original warning label remains in place, advising against direct sunlight on the curved surface — a detail commonly seen on magnifying mirrors of this era and a nice sign of originality. One side offers normal reflection, while the reverse provides magnification, making it both decorative and practical.
Made in England by Elite of Birmingham and dating to the mid-20th century (circa 1950s–60s), this is a quality everyday object rather than a novelty piece, and works equally well in a mid-century, vintage or modern setting.
