This is a beautiful vintage Thai bronze dancer statue, standing 31cm tall and made from solid cast bronze with a lovely weight of 1.5kg. The figure is full of movement, captured mid-pose with the traditional chada headdress, raised hand and flowing costume. The gold highlights along the clothing and jewellery bring out all the tiny details in the casting.
The base is also bronze and decorated with a gilded band, giving it a warm, rich look. There is gentle age to the finish which adds character, and the underside shows the traditional lost-wax casting marks often seen on older Thai workshop pieces. A great piece for shelves, sideboards or for anyone who loves world art and boho interiors.
